NBA Bets: April 6th, 2011

April 6th, 2011

The final week of the season is here. The playoff picture is almost completely set. There are a few games left in the NBA that make a difference as to who is in, and where teams sit. Let’s take a look at a few of our favorite bets for Wednesday April 6th, 2011:

New York Knicks + 5 over Philadelphia 76ers

These two teams are separated by just ½ game for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. The difference between the seed would be Boston or Miami in the postseason. The 76ers have been excellent at home, winning 25 of 37 games. We expect Philadelphia to continue playing well at home, but they do so with heroics at the end. New York has started to play better basketball, and they will stay in this game. Philadelphia wins, but New York covers.

Houston Rockets + 3.5 over New Orleans Hornets

The Houston Rockets need to win games, and win them fast. With just four games remaining, the Rockets are three games behind the Grizzlies for the final spot in the West. New Orleans is ½ game behind Portland and ½ game ahead of Memphis for the 7th seed. Look for the Rockets to find a way to go on the road and pick up a mandatory win, sending New Orleans another game back. Rockets win this game on the road.

Phoenix Suns – 3.5 over Minnesota Timberwolves

Phoenix has been eliminated for a few days now, but we expect them to make every effort to win four of their final five to finish at .500 for the season. The Suns have lost two in a row and seven of their last ten, so that looks unlikely. They are taking on a Timberwolves team that has lost 11 straight games. Look for Phoenix to come away with a double digit win in Minnesota.

Sacramento Kings/San Antonio Spurs under 209.5

The Kings average giving up 104.2 points per game, and San Antonio scores 103.5. Both defenses give up less than 100. Late in the year, and with San Antonio being a bit banged up, we love the defense in this game. The Spurs could use a win to wrap up the top seed in the West. Look for San Antonio to finish right near 100, with Sacramento in the 90’s. This game stays under.

Good luck with all your NBA picks. We will be back next week for any meaningful regular season games that could make a difference in the postseason picture.

Saturday Night Hoops for March 26th, 2011

March 26th, 2011

With just a couple weeks left, the NBA is wrapping up it’s regular season. There doesn’t appear to be much drama as to what teams will get into the postseason, but there could be a few shake ups in the standings the final few weeks. Let’s take a look at a few games that will take place Saturday March 26th, 2011:

New Jersey Nets +10 @ Atlanta Hawks

The New Jersey Nets have played better since Deron Williams came over. Not sure if Williams will play in this game, as he has been nursing an injury. The Hawks have been struggling, including their total blow-out loss to the Bulls. Look for this game to stay in single digits, with the Hawks coming away with a narrow win.

New York Knicks -3 @ Charlotte Bobcats

The Knicks have to start playing better soon, right? New York, with the best scoring duo in the league will put some points on the board, and Charlotte has a tough time scoring. Look for the Knicks to make a statement game, and send Charlotte further into trouble in the Eastern Conference.

Indiana Pacers +1 @ Detroit Pistons

Indiana needs wins and the Pistons do not. Despite this being a road game for the Pacers, look for them to roll in this game. Detroit has pretty much mailed it in for the season.

Chicago Bulls -5.5 @ Milwaukee Bucks

Some of the Chicago Bulls players love playing against their former head coach Scott Skiles. For a guy like Derrick Rose, he doesn’t care who he plays. He has torched up all his opponents this season. Look for Rose and the Bulls to win this game by 20+ points.

Best of luck with all your NBA betting!

Madness of March: NBA Bets for March 2nd, 2011

March 2nd, 2011

The month of March is here. March is known for it’s madness of basketball. Sure, the NBA does not have a “March Madness”, as they still have the month of April to deal with the regular season. With just about six weeks left in the season, the postseason race continues to shape up a bit. Here are a few of our favorite picks for Wednesday March 2nd, 2011:

Chicago Bulls @ Atlanta Hawks +3

The top team in the Central will play at Atlanta on Wednesday night. These two teams come into the game ranked third and fifth in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are on the heals of catching the Miami Heat for second place in the conference. Chicago has been playing really well, but we like Atlanta to come out smoking hot in this one. We are taking the Atlanta Hawks to not only cover the +3, but to win this game outright. Bet Atlanta +3 on Wednesday!

New Orleans Hornets @ New York Knicks -2.5

The sixth seed in the Western Conference will head to the Madison Square Garden to take on the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. New Orleans has struggled as of late, and fallen down in the Southwest Division. New York, with their new addition of Carmelo Anthony has been the sexy pick for alot of NBA experts. We like the home team in this one. Look for Anthony and Stoudemire to connect well in this one and win the game. We are taking the Knicks -2.5 over the Hornets.

Indiana Pacers @ Oklahoma City Thunder -7.5

Our final game we like Wednesday night is the Oklahoma City Thunder to thump the Indiana Pacers. We feel this game could be 20+. Sure, the Thunder have been up and down since sending Jeff Green to Boston. Kevin Durant will torch up the Pacers in this one. Indiana does not compete well if they don’t shoot the ball well, and look for that to continue on Wednesday. We like Oklahoma City Thunder -7.5.

Good luck with all your NBA picks for Wednesday night.

Hoop Dreams: Our NBA picks for Saturday January 22nd, 2011

January 21st, 2011

There are 13 games on the table for Saturday January 22nd in the National Basketball Association. We are going to give you our favorites and let you go from there. Here are our favorite games:

Boston Celtics – 6 @ Washington Wizards

The Wizards are terrible. John Wall is about it for Washington. The Boston Celtics will most certainly have an answer for Wall defenseively. Remember, the Celtics are the top defensive team in the league. The Celtics are 12-6 when playing on the road. Look for that to improve on Saturday night when Boston covers the -6 spread in the nation’s capital.

New York Knicks +7 @ Oklahoma City Thunder

We cannot wait to see Kevin Durant and Amare Stoudemire go at each other once again. This rivalry used to exsist when Stoudemire played in Phoenix. Now they only get to meet twice during the regular season. The Knicks have struggled a bit lately, but we expect their high powered offense to keep this game close. We are picking the New York Knicks to cover +7 on the road in Oklahoma City on Saturday.

Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Clippers -6

The battle between two teams trying to stay in the upper half of the Pacific Division. When Phoenix was going bad, these two teams were duking it out for second place. Now with the Lakers dominating and the Suns playing well, these two teams are fighing for third. The Clippers are 13-13 at home, including a win over the Lakers last week. Blake Griffin has been a man child for the Clippers. No one on Golden State will be able to stop him. Clippers win this game, and win it big. Los Angeles covers -6 at home over Golden State.

Good luck with all your NBA picks and predictions!

Free NBA Picks – Thursday January 13th, 2011

January 13th, 2011

Thursday Night in the National Basketball Association is typically meant for primetime viewing. The same is the case for this Thursday night, where three games will take place. We are going to give you our analysis and prediction for two of the three games. The game we are not going to pick is the Washington Wizards at the Minnesota Timberwolves. A pair of last place teams do not deserve our pick/prediction.

Orlando Magic @ Oklahoma City Thunder – 1

The Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder get together at the Ford Center. The Magic have won nine straight games coming into Wednesday night. Despite that, they cannot gain ground on the Miami Heat, because they have won nine straight as well. Oklahoma City cannot seem to shake the Utah Jazz at the top of the Northwest Division. We like both teams quite a bit. But when it comes down to crunch time, we are giving Kevin Durant the edge as the best player on the court. He gets that edge over Orlando’s Dwight Howard due to his ability to shoot the basketball. We like the Oklahoma City Thunder to cover the single point spread and win the game at home.

Miami Heat -4 @ Denver Nuggets

The other game on Thursday night features the “rockstars” from Miami, taking on the Denver Nuggets. Denver has been marred recently by the news of possibly trading leading scorer Carmelo Anthony. The latest there is Anthony will not sign an agreement with the Nets, and therefore the deal appears to be off. Despite that, the Nuggets are in a playoff chase. Denver is in third place in the Northwest Division, trailing Oklahoma City and Utah. Meanwhile, Miami has won nine in a row and seem to be the team that many felt they would be at the start of the season. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are living up to their billing and playing great basketball. This game has the Heat as a four point favorite. We like the better team to win this game, near double digits. Miami covers -4 on the road.

Good luck with all your NBA bets!

Free NBA Picks – Thursday December 30th, 2010

December 30th, 2010

There are three games on the docket for Thursday December 30th, 2010 in the National Basketball Association. We are going to give you some free picks on all three games:

New York Knicks/Orlando Magic O/U - 212

The New York Knicks will head to Orlando, to take on the new look Magic team. Sure the Knicks score a bunch of points, but one team that can get at it defensively is the Magic. We really like this game to stick around the 100 mark for both teams. Give us the under 212 in the New York Knicks/Orlando Magic game on Thursday night.

San Antonio Spurs @ Dallas Mavericks +2.5

The Spurs are coming off the pasting of the Los Angeles Lakers. San Antonio has the best record in all of the NBA. Dirk Nowitzki is a bit banged up for Dallas. We don’t care. We look at the home team to have a major advantage in this game. Look for this game to be close; but Dallas will come up roses with a win. Take the Dallas Mavericks +2.5 to beat the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday!

Utah Jazz -1 @ Portland Trailblazers

Portland has been a tough team to handicap all season long. Some nights they look great, while others they just struggle. Utah is just a single point favorite in this game, and we like that. We simply are picking the better team here. We like the Utah Jazz – 1 to beat the Portland Trailblazers on Thursday night.

Good luck with all your National Basketball Association bets!
